A little about Tea...
Legend has it that around 2737BC, the Chinese Emporer Shun Nung, scholar and haerbalist, discovered Tea when, one day, some leaves from the Camellia Sinensis plant were blown into his bowl of water. Noting the delightful aroma, he tasted it and declared the drink "Heaven sent!".
From its humble beginnings as a refreshing and replenishing beverage Tea has now grown to become the
world's second most consumed drink, after water. People not only enjoy tea as a welcoming beverage, but
also for its health benefits.
Floating Lotus supplies a delightful range of exotic loose leaf Teas and caters for every mood, desire and craving that one could ask for.

Kate Di Prima, spokesperson for the Dieticicans Association of Australia, say that as a social drink, Tea is better than coffee because it has lower caffeine levels - "Caffeine takes water from the bosy, creating a negative fluid balance", she says. This can result in headaches and tiredness wheras Tea can actually contribute to feeling more energised. "I've had people say to me ater drinking Tea that they feel refreshed", Dr. Prima says ('The Weekend australian' - January 2004).
